The course was held in English and translated simultaneously to Chinese

A group of Chinese dairy farmers and dairy experts completed an advanced study program in Israel.
These last years the dairy market in China has been growing fast and there is a huge demand for milk and dairy products.
The trainees learned on how to use advanced technologies to increase milk production, improve efficiency and take care of the cows' welfare in the dairy farm and during the milking sessions.

The training program was managed by Afimilk experts in cooperation with the Galilee College and lasted 3 months.
All the training material was translated to Chinese to help overcome the language's obstacles.
The course also included work in dairy farms and milking parlors.

All the important issues relating to Herd management were taught: Cow and Heifer health, changes in cows behavior thanks to the" behavior pedometer", increase of fat and protein in the milk, identification of problematic milk in real time and also cow feeding.

The Chinese trainees are all dealing with milk production for the MENGNIU Company, one of the biggest dairy processor in China.

Milk consumption is still low in China compared to Israel or to Western countries, but the demand is growing and the milk companies are preparing themselves for this change.

The Israel milk industry is famous in China thanks to the Demonstration Sino-Israeli farm in Beijing which was built by the Israeli Government and installed with Afimilk computerized systems.

The average milk yield per cow in China is between 5000 and 6000 L per year, but in dairy farms equipped with Israeli technologies the average is now 11,500 L per cow per year which created great resonance throughout China.

Following the success of the course, another group of Chinese dairy farm experts will start a course, here in Israel, at the beginning of February 2012.

The Chinese farm managers returning to China will get continuous support from an Afimilk adviser living in China.
